What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register on the site, place an order, enter a contest or sweepstakes, respond to a survey or communication such as e-mail, or participate in another site feature.
  • When ordering or registering, we may ask you for your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information or other information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.
  • We also collect information about gift recipients so that we can fulfill the gift purchase. The information we collect about gift recipients is not used for marketing purposes.
  • Like many websites, we use "cookies" to enhance your experience and gather information about visitors and visits to our websites. Please refer to the "Do we use 'cookies'?" section below for information about cookies and how we use them.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, purchase products, enter a contest or promotion, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:
  • To personalize your site experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested.
  • To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.
  • To quickly process your transactions.
  • To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature.
  • If you have opted-in to receive our e-mail newsletter, we may send you periodic e-mails. If you would no longer like to receive promotional e-mail from us, please refer to the "How can you opt-out, remove or modify information you have provided to us?" section below. If you have not opted-in to receive e-mail newsletters, you will not receive these e-mails. Visitors who register or participate in other site features such as marketing programs and 'members-only' content will be given a choice whether they would like to be on our e-mail list and receive e-mail communications from us.
How do we protect visitor information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. When you place orders or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive/credit information you supply is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our databases to be only accessed as stated above.

Do we use "cookies"?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.

Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you won't have access to many features that make your site experience more efficient and some of our services will not function properly. However, you can still place orders over the telephone by contacting customer service.

Do we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice, except as described below. The term "outside parties" does not include Simple Design Inc.. It also does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety.

However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

How can you opt-out, remove or modify information you have provided to us?

To modify your e-mail subscriptions, please let us know by modifying your preferences in the "My Account" section. Please note that due to email production schedules you may receive any emails already in production.

To delete all of your online account information from our database, sign into the "My Account" section of our site and remove your shipping addresses, billing addresses & payment information. Please note that we may maintain information about an individual sales transaction in order to service that transaction and for record keeping.

Third party links

In an attempt to provide you with increased value, we may include third party links on our site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).

Changes to our policy

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page. Policy changes will apply only to information collected after the date of the change. This policy was last modified on September 27, 2011.

Shipping Policy:

It is the Customer's responsibility to inform histackleboxshop.com, in writing, of any special circumstances which may delay or otherwise hinder delivery of your order. Examples of special circumstances are, but not limited to, remote rural locations, military complexes, or any other locations which might be inaccessible to large delivery trucks, such as gravel or dirt roads, narrow, winding, or mountainous roads, or areas in which parking may be difficult, such as large cities.

Failure to inform
histackleboxshop.com of these circumstances may result in additional Shipping and Handling fees, even if your order initially shipped free. You will automatically receive an email confirmation when you place your order; simply reply and explain your circumstances. A determination that you are unlikely to incur additional fees is not a guarantee. We will do everything within our power to help you avoid unexpected Shipping and Handling fees.

Histackleboxshop.com will not be responsible for Shipping and Handling costs due to the freight company’s inability to deliver to the location you specified when placing your order. We rely on your experience and judgment in these matters. If delivery trucks have refused or have had difficulty delivering merchandise to your location in the past, it is likely there will be difficulties in the future. When in doubt contact us so we can inform the freight company.

Neither
histackleboxshop.com nor the freight company is responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged merchandise when delivered without a signature.  We will ship to APO/FFO addresses; however, you may incur additional Freight and Handling charges. Please be sure to include both an email address and phone number during the registration process to expedite communication.

Histackleboxshop.com only accepts orders from the United Sates.  Please not that orders from Alaska or Hawaii may incur additional shipping charges.  This policy was last modified on September 27, 2011

Return Policy:
You may return products purchased from histackleboxshop.com within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, less shipping and restocking fees. The customer is responsible for shipping fees in both directions, even if the product was originally shipped free. There will be no returns for any reason after 30 days.

The restocking fee for returns is 15% of the retail cost of the item.  We do not charge a restocking if you need to exchange an item.  The only fees charged if you are an exchanging an item are shipping costs even if the exchanged item qualifies for free shipping.

Return Instructions:

 All returns must be authorized before they are shipped to histackleboxshop.com. Notify us via email at email@histacklebox.com of your intentions; be sure to include your order number.

A customer service representative will start the return process immediately; it may take up to 24 hours to receive a response depending on how quickly the warehouse is able to authorize the return.

Items returned to histackleboxshop.com must meet the following conditions:


  1. Products cannot be installed or used in any manner.
  2. Product must have original tags, stickers, and UPCs still attached in new condition.

  3. Product must be new and not used.

  4. Items must be in their original packaging, including associated parts and documentation.
  5. Items, including original packaging and associated parts, must be new.
  6.  Include your original receipt, which can be printed from your histackleboxshop.com account.
  7. You must obtain an RMA from histackleboxshop.com prior to shipping any product back.
  8. You must return item(s) to the address specified in the email response you receive from customer service.
    * Note: Items must not be returned to
    histackleboxshop.com corporate headquarters as our items ship from several warehouses, you must wait for a response from customer service before sending your return.
  9. If you received an incorrect item we will either exchange the item at no cost to you, including the associated shipping fees, or refund your purchase price and shipping fees.
  10. The Customer is responsible for packaging and return of items. We strongly advise you to insure your shipment. Histackleboxshop.com cannot be held responsible for damages incurred during the return process.
  11. If the product is returned in a damaged condition it will be the customer’s responsibility to file a claim with the shipping company.

ONLINE / WEBSITE PRICE ERRORS

We do our best to maintain correct pricing and stock levels on our website, BUT we will be the first to acknowledge that errors can occur.

We (Hi's tackle Box) reserve the right to review and approve ALL ONLINE ORDERS FOR CORRECT PRICING BEFORE AN ITEM IS CHARGED AND SHIPPED.


More simply stated, just because an item is listed on our website at a certain price DOES NOT GUARANTEE, OBLIGATE OR IN ANY WAY BIND that we (Hi's Tackle Box) will sell an item at an incorrect price. As a rule of thumb, if you(the buyer) are looking at something on our website and the price is far below what other retailers are charging for the same item, there is likely an error, the old saying holds true, "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is".


With the above statement we are NOT referring to small price variations.  This is in reference to what are obvious and large differences in prices between our posted prices and the established fair market value of an item. The ONLY EXCEPTIONS to this pricing policy are items labeled as "marked down", "closeout", "sale" or any eBay items.  In those cases, the products ARE clearly being offered at greatly reduced prices and will be sold at a discount.


Of course, if we have made an error, we will contact you (the buyer) BEFORE any charges are altered with your original order to give you (the buyer) the opportunity to approve or deny the revised charges.  We don't just make adjustments and tell you after the fact.


This type of revision is very rare but we acknowledge it can happen. 

PRICE VARIATIONS BETWEEN OUR WEBSITE & RETAIL STORE

Some items may have different prices based on the sales channel in which they are being offered. Prices are EXCLUSIVE to the sales channel where they are found. More directly stated, we DO NOT honor online prices in our South San Francisco retail location and we do not alter or discount website prices based on retail store prices or promotions. These are two distinctly different sales channels with completely different overhead costs and levels of expertise necessary to deliver products to consumers. We do our best to maintain absolute parody between our website store and our retail store, but there will always be instances when prices do not match exactly. * All orders placed using our website www.HisTackleBoxShop.com are NOT available for walk in pickup in our South San Francisco retail location without prior arrangements.

OUT OF STOCK ITEMS

Please understand that we are a retail store and there are instances when we may show an item as being in stock on our website but due to a recent sale made to a walk-in customer the stock may have suddenly changed and it is not yet reflected on our website. While we try to keep these occurrences to a minimum, but we admit it can and does happen from time to time. If it does happen, we make every attempt to get the item back in stock as quickly as possible and we will notify buyers of any delay.  Buyers will be given the option to retain the order in "backorder" status or to cancel the order completely.
